US, Russia to Continue Ukraine Talks
Russia and the United States will continue negotiations over the Ukraine conflict "in the most active mode," Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov announced on Friday after high-level discussions in Moscow. The announcement followed a three-hour meeting at the Kremlin between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff.
During the talks, both sides addressed the possibility of resuming direct negotiations between representatives of the Russian Federation and Ukraine. "As for the Ukrainian crisis itself, it was discussed, in particular, about the possibility of resuming direct negotiations between representatives of the Russian Federation and Ukraine," Ushakov told journalists.
Ushakov further noted that the talks contributed to bringing the United States and Russia closer together, not only on Ukraine but also on other important global matters. The continuation of dialogue signals a cautious but tangible diplomatic effort amid ongoing tensions.
While specific details on future meetings were not disclosed, both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in seeking a resolution to the conflict.
