Trump Wants $8M Back from Politico

President Donald Trump has publicly demanded that the $8 million provided to Politico be recovered by the Department of Government Expenditures (DOGE). In a strongly worded post on his TruthSocial account, Trump referred to Politico as a “Radical Left” magazine and asserted that the funds—believed to have been distributed during former President Joe Biden’s administration—should be taken back immediately.

“The $8 million that was given to Politico should be taken back by DOGE ASAP,” Trump wrote, pointing to what he sees as wasteful or politically biased allocations of government funding. While he did not provide specific details on the source of the funding, the implication was clear that he attributes the grant to decisions made under the previous administration.

In the same post, Trump also took aim at politician and activist Stacey Abrams, questioning the legitimacy of a substantial financial transfer allegedly connected to her environmental initiatives. According to Trump, Abrams received $2 billion for her fund just before the start of his second term in office. “She went from $100 in donations to $2,000,000,000 in just one day? Not bad!!!” he commented sarcastically. “Get back the money,” he concluded.

Trump’s remarks come amid broader discussions around government spending, media funding, and political influence. His latest claims are likely to fuel further debate over financial transparency and the allocation of federal funds under previous administrations.

As the re-elected president, Trump continues to use his social media platform to challenge political opponents and call for investigations into financial dealings he views as inappropriate or partisan. No official response has yet been issued by Politico or Stacey Abrams regarding the president’s statements.
