United States President Donald Trump has signed a sweeping executive order establishing the “DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force,” a federal initiative aimed at enhancing public safety, enforcing immigration laws, and preserving the cultural and historic integrity of the nation’s capital.

According to the White House, the task force will include representatives from several key federal agencies: the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the Department of Transportation, the Department of Homeland Security, the United States Marshals Service, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

The executive order outlines the task force’s primary mission as making Washington, D.C. “safe, beautiful, and prosperous by preventing crime, punishing criminals, preserving order, protecting our revered American monuments, and promoting beautification and the preservation of our history and heritage.”

In addition to addressing crime and federal law enforcement coordination, the order specifically instructs U.S. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to remove all homeless encampments located on federal land in the capital. This measure reflects the administration’s broader push to clean up public spaces and restore the appearance of the city, which Trump’s order ties directly to civic pride and national identity.
