Leavitt noted that Trump often seeks counsel from her and other staff members and does take their input into account, although the extent to which he implements advice "depends on which time." She reassured attendees that the "TRUMP 2028" cap is simply a piece of merchandise and not an indication of future plans.

Speculation about Trump seeking an additional term intensified when he previously mentioned that there might be "methods" to bypass constitutional restrictions.
