Trump Urges Europe to Fix Immigration
United States President Donald Trump expressed concern on Thursday over Europe’s handling of immigration, attributing the continent’s current challenges to poor policy decisions. Speaking from the Oval Office during a joint appearance with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Trump stated that Europe is facing “a lot of problems.”
“I’m not a big fan of Europe and what they’ve done with immigration at all,” Trump said. “I think they’ve got to get smart because Europe is being very badly hurt by what they’ve done with immigration.”
Trump praised Meloni’s approach to immigration, highlighting her firm stance on securing borders and promoting national interest. He noted that Meloni has taken a lead role in addressing migration issues within the European Union and emphasized the need for other leaders to follow her example.
“I want Europe to do very well,” Trump added. “Europe is important to me and it’s important to the world.” He concluded his remarks with an optimistic tone, saying, “I hope Europe is going to be great again.”
Trump’s comments reflect ongoing concerns in his administration about global immigration trends and their impact on national stability. The meeting with Meloni served as a platform to underline shared views between the two leaders on immigration, sovereignty, and transatlantic cooperation.
As European nations continue to grapple with migration-related political and social tensions, Trump’s remarks signal continued scrutiny from Washington. His call for reform aligns with his broader second-term agenda of promoting stricter immigration controls both domestically and among key allies.
