Trump Plans 100-Foot Flagpoles at WH
United States President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that he will install two towering American flagpoles—each nearly 100 feet tall—on the grounds of the White House. The announcement came as Trump walked along the North Lawn and spoke to reporters about the project.
“We’re putting up a beautiful, almost 100-foot tall American flag,” Trump said. “On this side and another one on the other side... Two flags, top of the line. They’ve needed flag poles for 200 years.”
According to the president, one of the flagpoles will be placed on the White House’s north lawn, while the other will be erected on the south side. Trump emphasized that the entire project will be personally funded. “Paid for by Trump,” he added.
The move is described as a patriotic gesture aimed at enhancing the visual and symbolic presence of the American flag at the executive residence. Though specific timelines were not shared, Trump’s remarks suggest the installations will proceed in the near term.
The project adds a new visual feature to the White House landscape and underscores the president’s continued focus on national pride and symbolism. The announcement has already drawn attention for both its scale and personal funding.
