Trump Criticizes Colorado Portrait

President Donald Trump has expressed strong disapproval of a portrait of himself currently on display at the Colorado State Capitol. In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed the image was intentionally altered to present him unfavorably. "Nobody likes a bad picture or painting of themselves, but the one in Colorado, in the State Capitol, put up by the Governor, along with all other Presidents, was purposefully distorted to a level that even I, perhaps, have never seen before," he wrote.

Trump singled out the contrast between his portrait and that of former President Barack Obama, which he described as "wonderful." He called his own image "truly the worst" among all the presidential portraits displayed at the Capitol.

He further commented, “In any event, I would much prefer not having a picture than having this one, but many people from Colorado have called and written to complain. In fact, they are actually angry about it.” Following the post, Trump shared a couple of other portraits of himself, possibly to contrast what he considers more favorable representations.

The portrait in question was reportedly commissioned as part of a tradition honoring U.S. presidents at the Colorado State Capitol. Trump’s criticism adds to a list of instances where he has taken issue with his portrayal in public or media settings.

As reactions continue, the post has stirred discussions about public art, political representation, and how former and current presidents are commemorated in official spaces. Whether or not the portrait will be removed or altered remains unclear.
