Trump Urges Court to Halt Injunctions
Washington, D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on what he referred to as "radical left" judges, accusing them of issuing unlawful nationwide injunctions that undermine presidential authority and national security. His remarks were posted on Truth Social, where he urged the Supreme Court to intervene before what he called a “toxic and unprecedented situation” spirals out of control.
Trump accused these judges of having no concern for the repercussions of their “very dangerous and incorrect decisions and rulings.” He labeled them “lunatics” and claimed they are trying to “assume the power of the presidency without having to attain 80 million votes.”
He argued that as president, he must be allowed to act quickly and decisively, particularly on issues involving the deportation of violent criminals such as murderers, drug lords, and rapists. According to Trump, nationwide injunctions imposed by lower courts prevent him from taking immediate action to protect American citizens and enforce immigration laws.
In a pointed appeal, Trump called on Chief Justice John Roberts and the rest of the Supreme Court to put an end to nationwide injunctions, which have become a powerful tool for lower courts to halt federal policies. “Stop nationwide injunctions now, before it's too late,” he warned.
The president’s comments come amid a broader legal and political battle over the limits of executive power and the role of the judiciary. His call to action reflects growing tension between the executive branch and federal courts, as contentious policy decisions continue to be challenged in courtrooms across the country.
Whether the Supreme Court will respond to Trump’s plea remains to be seen, but the issue adds another layer of legal complexity and political controversy in an already polarized landscape. Trump’s message was clear: unchecked judicial power, in his view, poses a serious threat to the presidency and the safety of the nation.
