Trump: Stay Strong and Avoid Panic

United States President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Monday to deliver a forceful message amid increasing market volatility. As economic anxiety mounts following China’s latest retaliatory tariffs, Trump encouraged Americans to show resilience and avoid panic.

“The United States has a chance to do something that should have been done DECADES AGO. Don’t be Weak! Don’t be Stupid! Don’t be a PANICAN (A new party based on Weak and Stupid people!). Be Strong, Courageous, and Patient, and GREATNESS will be the result!” Trump wrote.

His remarks come just days after the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped more than 2,200 points at Friday’s close. The plunge followed China’s announcement of a 34% tariff on U.S. goods, a direct response to Trump’s April 2 tariff hike targeting Chinese imports.

Despite the sharp downturn in the markets, Trump defended his administration’s strategy. He reiterated that the United States is bringing in “billions of dollars a week” through the tariffs and insisted that the current pain will ultimately deliver long-term economic gains for the country.

Trump’s call for calm and strength appears aimed at both domestic audiences and international observers, signaling his intention to hold firm on economic policy despite global market instability. The term “PANICAN,” coined by the president, was used to characterize those who he believes lack the resolve to pursue bold trade reform.

The president’s messaging underscores his administration’s hardline stance on trade, particularly with China, and highlights his continued effort to rally public support during turbulent economic times. With markets unsettled and tensions escalating, Trump is leaning heavily on national resolve to back his economic vision.
