Iran: Israel Disrupting U.S. Nuclear Talks

The Iranian Foreign Ministry on Monday accused Israel of actively seeking to disrupt the ongoing nuclear negotiations between Tehran and Washington. Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei claimed that “a kind of coalition is forming… to undermine and disrupt the diplomatic process.”

The accusation comes just after the second round of indirect talks between Iran and the United States over the weekend. Despite the sharp rhetoric, Iranian officials signaled cautious optimism regarding the negotiations.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that “negotiations are progressing” and highlighted that both parties “managed to reach a better understanding on a number of principles and goals.” His remarks suggest that, while the talks remain delicate, both sides have identified areas of common ground that could shape future agreements.

The talks, aimed at addressing longstanding disputes over Iran’s nuclear program and lifting U.S. sanctions, remain a focal point of international attention. Both governments have emphasized indirect dialogue as a method of avoiding further diplomatic strain while navigating sensitive issues.

Next steps in the process are already scheduled. The two countries are expected to resume negotiations on Saturday, April 26. Observers will closely watch for any signs of breakthrough or further complications, particularly in light of the growing geopolitical tensions in the region.
